Tongue and Groove Wall Panels
Originally created back in the early 1800s, the beadboard tongue and groove style was typically used in farmhouse kitchens and bathrooms. You can check out kitchen designs and images that show some beadboard wainscoting uses.
Most beadboard today has baseboards, shoe molding and a wainscoting cap and is installed on half wall sections usually at the standard 36 inches. A growing trend in beadboard is to install it in children's bedrooms where a laidback, fun look is desired. Very rarely will you see beadboard wainscoting that isn't painted. Installing tongue and groove beadboard can be tricky when it comes to electrical outlets. Often times the outlet will cross two vertical tongue and groove sections.
